*** Letter to all participating clubs on 12th October 2009 ***

Hi All,

Well after many emails and phone calls, again promoting this season's National Christian Cup and Trophy and preparing for the draw, we are very pleased to announce that we have, yet again another large entry.

When we decided to develop the National Christian Cup into 2 Competitions and start the National Christian Trophy in 2007, we were aiming at around 80 or 90 teams. The 2007/2008 entry of 81 was excellent but last year we received a record 103 entries, which wasvery encouraging. Again this year we have almost 100 teams entered, 99 to be precise!! Great stuff!

Of the 99 Christian-based Teams, there are 52 Teams in the National Cup and 47 teams in the National Trophy. This is fantastic and we give many thanks to the Lord! Also a big thank-you for your patience in waiting for the draw.

The draw is enclosed below in full, for both the Cup and Trophy. It was made at the 2009 SCORE Football Chaplains Conference at Lilleshall last week, so thanks to the Chaplains from Gillingham, Cambridge United and Altrincham for their help and great banter!!

We are kicking the Competitions off on Saturday 31st October 2009 but you will notice that there are some teams that do not have games for that day, as they have received a bye.

However if you have a bye into the 2nd Round and are also playing a team who have also received a bye (there are 7 such ties), then you are free to play on October 31st if you wish but both teams will have to agree to this situation. If that is the case then obviously there will be a spare date later in the Competition but you may prefer to get the games out of the way whilst the weather is better - well that is the theory!!? Contact us immediately if you want to play a 2nd round game on October 31st.

All letters are being prepared next week so the full details will be available soon. However, if you cannot play on October 31st you must make make immediate contact with us by email and then we will forward that onto your opponents!

May God bless our games together and let us really aim to play for His Glory in every way, to attempt to effectively reach our many non- Christian friends in our teams!

Cheers,

Keith Hammond and Keith Barter
NCC Exec.
